The old Donkey Kong Country trilogy is like comfort food to me, I usually pop in any or all of them for a quick playthrough once a year or so. And this year, after doing so, I also checked this title out. Folks, it's Donkey Kong Country 4. Even down to the bosses taking too long and the character art being kinda ugly and unnerving... But aside from those things, this game pulls in elements from all three DKC games and then some from the newer Retro titles and blends them together in sick new ways, the mine cart equivalent especially gets some incredible Bopopolis energy going toward the end of the game.
