I had an arcade phase earlier this year, playing through a few dozen titles and sampling many others. Dolphin Blue stood out from the pack not just for its vivacious visuals, a beautiful blend of colorful pixel art and rocking 3D waves, but also for being basically a fancy Metal Slug in disguise. In fact Dolphin Blue kinda marries Metal Slug, where you alternate between running and gunning on foot or in various vehicles, with its uncle In the Hunt, a game where you pilot a submarine and your movement range can expand or shrink with the rise and fall of the water level. I don't actually know if Dolphin Blue shares any staff with those older titles but if they did, it'd be one of the least surprising things I've ever heard.
