Movement is king in platformers, and this original project from the team that brought us Sonic Mania looked to the yoyo for inspiration. You can "Loop-de-loop," you can "Around the World," you can "Pinwheel," you can "Breakaway" (I'm just now learning this is the name of a yoyo trick), and you can string all your different moves together in elaborate combos as you fly through stages evading capture by the hordes of penguin guards in pursuit. The pendulum action inherent to any yoyo maneuvering feels really good, it's hard not to do tricks passively as you're running through even simple straightaways, jamming to the energetic beats. The environments, bold and indulgent and full of colors that complimentarily clash, are such a visual feast, it's like someone took a lost 32X game and spun it into 3D.
